The Exhibit Tinker Technician volunteer will assist the Exhibit Production Manager in repairs to Circuit Board puzzles used in The Studio, our creative arts/maker/tinker space. The Circuit Board Puzzles are a popular activity that has visitors using batteries, alligator clamps, light switches and lightbulbs to create a circuit and activate a light bulb.
Qualifications- Basic hand tool usage knowledge
- Soldering experience
- Lite electrical low voltage experience.
- Volunteer Orientation
- Project related training
Knowledge, Skills and Experience You Can Gain
- Experience working in a large nonprofit
- Expand professional network
- Opportunity to gain experience in basic repair
- Opportunity to earn free passes and memberships with service hours
- Parking vouchers and Metro Transit passes when volunteering onsite
- Letters of reference and recommendations available upon request
- 2-4 hours a month, ongoing as needed. Flexible; shifts can be scheduled at volunteer’s convenience, typically during the weekdays from 9am-4pm. Exact schedule and shifts will be determined with Exhibit Production Manager.
