Our Fall Native Plant Sale is the biggest fundraising event of the year and this opportunity is open to anyone who is willing to help.
The sale is a three-day event,Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 26, 27 & 28. You can work either morning 8:00 am-12:30pm or afternoon shift 12:15 pm-4:45 pm.
In our nursery, we have carts for customers to load their plant purchases. The limiting factor as to how many customers we can serve is the number of carts. The idea is that volunteers can help customers unload their carts into their vehicles so that the carts can be available to other customers.
Remember to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Bring a reusable water bottle and we'll provide snacks and lunch.
E-mail andrew@theodorepayne.org directly if you'd like to help, please let us know which days and times you're able to volunteer!

Mission Statement
Theodore Payne Foundation inspires and educates Southern Californians about the beauty and ecological benefits of California native plants landscapes.
Description
For more than 55 years, the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native Plants, Inc. has dedicated itself to helping Californians discover the beauty and ecological importance of California native plants. The Foundation operates the Theodore Payne Nursery in Sun Valley, which offers more than 400 native plant species and 200 seed species to the general public. It is the oldest nursery in Los Angeles County devoted exclusively to native plants. In addition to the Nursery, the Foundation offers field trips for elementary school students, native plant horticulture and design classes, and classes in plant-animal relationships, irrigation, rainwater harvesting, edible and medicinal native plants and California plant communities. The Foundation also hosts an annual garden tour of forty native plant home gardens. The Foundation and Nursery honor the legacy of Theodore Payne, who opened his first nursery in 1903 in Los Angeles. In his lifetime, Mr. Payne introduced more than 400 species of native plants into cultivation for public use.
