Family Promise In Anoka County- Family Promise in Anoka County is an Interfaith Hospitality Network providing temporary shelter, hospitality and case management for families with dependent children experiencing homelessness.

Volunteers assist as cooks, drivers, laundry workers, host/hostess, handyman, day center volunteers and office support.

Family Promise is starting a new program called Home For Keeps that rehabs mobile homes so that homeless families are able to own homes. They currently have two mobile homes that they need help with rehabbing in Cedar and one in Centennial Square (Lexington & 35). People are needed with construction or handyman type backgrounds to help paint etc.

Project Point Person(s) are needed for 12-15 weeks that manage contractors and volunteer groups for each mobile home to ensure that if a group is going to work on a specific project that they are working on the correct one in the correct room.

Volunteers enroll by completing a skills and interests checklist and these are matched to community needs. From the matches, the volunteer selects a volunteer job that is meaningful and fits. Become one of nearly a half million RSVP volunteers across the country who are making a difference in their community.
