Volunteer Opportunity:

Barber to Boise 5K and 10K - October 21 st, 2017
Not racing but love to be part of the action? The YMCA would not be able to host this event without the help of great volunteers like you! Help is needed both on and off the course.

Enjoy a fun tradition of supporting the runners in the 2017 Barber to Boise. The 10k will start at Barber Park and finish at Ann Morrison. The 5K will join the course off of Parkcenter Blvd. and finish at Ann Morrison. This event has plenty of great areas that you can support the runners at.

We are looking for volunteers to help in various areas. These areas include:

Packet Pickup (4 volunteers needed)

-Helping participants receive their bibs and packets.

T-Shirt Tent (2 volunteers needed)

-Distributing racer t-shirts after they have picked up their packets

Late Packet Pickup (4 volunteers needed)

-Helping participants receive their bibs and packets at late packet pickup

Starting Line Set up (4 Volunteers needed)

-Setting up flagging, banners, tents, scaffolding in the race area.

Finish Line Water Distribution (4 volunteers needed)

-Handing water to all the amazing finishers that just ran their hearts out!

Course Cheer Boosters (20 volunteers needed)

-Cheering on and making sure all runners know where they are going and to assist in course monitoring.

Award Distribution (2 volunteers needed)
-We have many categories for runners to place on the podium. Be the one to congratulate them and give them their awards and medals.

Refuel Station (2 Volunteers needed)

-There will be fruit and bagels for the racers to refuel. Be there to hand them some fuel to replenish their tired muscles.

Post-Race Take Down (8 volunteers needed)

-Taking down race equipment, course material and cleaning up race area

Water Stations (10 volunteers needed)

-Providing water to runners throughout the course.
