Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin plans and coordinates various evidence based classes for adults. The evidence based classes are through the Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging: www.wihealthyaging.org
We need volunteers that are willing to lead discussion classes with groups of adults. Classes offered based on volunteer availability. Training to lead classes is required through Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging. Contact the ADRC-CW about partnering with us as a volunteer to lead classes.
Classes are typically held one time a week for a 2 hour length and run for 6-7 weeks. Classes are typically offered 1-2x a year.
Living Well with Chronic Conditions: Build confidence in adults managing a chronic health condition.
Stepping On: Evidence based class reduces the risk of falling for adults.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers: Focus on the family/friend that is the caregiver. Whether a spouse is caring for a spouse or adult child is caring for a parent, burnout is real. This class helps to teach self care for the caregiver.
Healthy Living with Diabetes: Help adults with pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes learn skills and manage.
Healthy Living with Chronic Pain: NEW! Help adults learn ways to manage pain and options.
We'll work with your schedule.
