Meals get packaged by volunteers in time for Meals on Wheels volunteers to pick up the food and deliver it to adults 60+ who are primarily homebound and unable or have no one to prepare a meal. The food arrives cooked and ready to go. We package the food into individual trays, seal them and get them into the insulated bags for the different routes.
Our kitchen is located in the same building as the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin offices at the Centralia Center: 220 3rd Ave South, Wisconsin Rapids.
Volunteers arrive between 9:00-9:15 am and are usually finished by 10:30-11:00 am. Meals on Wheels are packaged for delivery Monday-Friday. Volunteers have a variety of schedules from coming in every week to coming in once or twice a month. We can work with your schedule. Volunteer with a child, grandchild, friend, neighbor or spouse!
Application and background checks are required. Training is provided.
