The CareerBuilder Challenge is a professional golf tournament played each January in California's Coachella Valley. Part of the PGA TOUR's West Coast Swing, this tournament is a traditional four round tournament and is played over three different courses. With the help of more than 1,000 energetic, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers the tournament has raised over $56 million for local charities, while providing a world class sporting event which offers a first class experience to its participants. The tournament is organized by Desert Classic Charities, a non-profit entity that has contributed more than $56 million to a wide range of Coachella Valley charitable organizations, including support for sturctured and mentoring programs for children, social services and food and safe shelter for the less forturnate. Volunteers can choose a position from over 13 different committees. By Volunteering for the 2017 CareerBuilder Challenge you will be a part of a nationally televised PGA TOUR Golf Tournament. Mission Statement
Since its inception, Desert Classic Charities, the charitable entity that organizes the CareerBuilder Challenge, a PGA TOUR event in the Coachella Valley, has contributed more than $56 million to a wide range of Coachella Valley charitable organizations and Eisenhower Medical Center. The scope of giving is broad and includes support for structured and mentoring programs for children, social services, and food and safe shelter for the less fortunate. Desert Classic Charities is dedicated to continuing its mission to serve human needs in the Coachella Valley and beyond by generating funds and opportunities every year through the event.
Description
Desert Classic Charities is responsible for distributing funds generated from the CareerBuilder Challenge Golf Tournament to local charities. Since its introduction in 1960 as the Palm Springs Golf Classic, the tournament has generated more than $56 million for numerous non-profit organizations in the Coachella Valley. In turn, those organizations enrich the lives of Valley residents in innumerable ways.
