Open Door Family Medical Centers hosts a huge Holiday Toy Drive and a Santa Day at each of our health centers in Westchester and Putnam to bring holiday cheer to our young patients. We need volunteers to help at our Brewster Open Door Santa Day on Friday, December 1st, 2017.

Volunteers are needed for:

Set Up: 1pm - 3pm
Help move chairs and tables, carry in boxes of toys and supplies, arrange toys on tables, and decorate.

Santa Day: 3pm - 5pm
There are several jobs: man a gift station, stamp children's hands, count children in attendance as they enter, manage front door, or help with baby carriages.

Take Down: 5pm - 6pm
Count and pack up remaining toys, label the boxes with the counts, stack boxes for moving, help return tables an chairs, and take down decorations.

We ask voluneers to arrive 15 minutes prior to their shift to sign in and learn about their job.

As a pioneer Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Open Door serves nearly 60,000 individual patients- with more than 40% of patients having no health insurance coverage. Primary care, dental care, behavioral health care, clinical nutrition, wellness programs and chronic disease management are the foundation of Open Door’s clinical programs. For nearly 50 years, Open Door has developed a proven model of cost-effective, preventive care for patients that benefits entire communities. Open Door currently operates health centers in Ossining, Port Chester, Sleepy Hollow, Mount Kisco, Brewster, Mamaroneck, as well as eight School-Based Health Centers in the Ossining and Port Chester school districts, and a comprehensive dental facility in Saugerties. Open Door is accredited by the Joint Commission, recognized by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home, and recognized as the leading Health Disparities Reducer in NYS by the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA). Open Door achieves clinical results that consistently surpass national benchmarks for patient outcomes related to diabetes management, blood pressure control and asthma, among others.
