St. Jude Walk/Run

The Central PA arm of ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is excited to invite engaged and committed individuals to join the Central PA Walk/Run planning committee. The Central PA St. Jude Walk/Run will take place in September 2020. The family friendly event invites supporters of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to come together for a morning of fun and celebration as we support the kids of St. Jude.

The Central PA St. Jude Walk/Run committee is comprised of well-connected members of the Central PA community. Volunteers use their skills to promote the event by seeking event sponsorship, recruiting participants, soliciting in-kind donations, and advocating for the mission of the organization--finding cures and saving children.

Committee members devote an average of 4-5 hours per month, including one monthly meeting as a group (in person or by phone). The committee has the decision making power to put a local spin on this national endeavor. The Central PA St. Jude Walk/Run Committee is supported by a ALSAC/St. Jude representative.

If interested in learning more about how to get involved with these efforts, please contact Emily Harrison at emily.harrison@stjude.org or 412-535-6119.

Mission Statement

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

Description

St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do science more quickly.
