We are seeking volunteers for the 2017 LIGHT THE NIGHT events coming up on the following dates:

-Saturday, October 28 at Harbor Point Commons Park in Stamford, CT

LIGHT THE NIGHT raises funds and support for cancer research and those impacted by blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and Hodgkin's disease.

It's a moving event with a Cancer Survivors ceremony, a Remembrance Pavilion to share memories about surviving and beating cancer or those we remember, as well as kids events, food, fun and fireworks. Walkers walk through the night with lanterns lit to light up the night against the darkness of cancer. Lanterns lit white are survivors, gold are those walking in memory of someone and red is for family, friends and supporters.

We are seeking volunteers!

-Assembling and distributing lanterns that light up for survivors, those walking in memory of someone they've lost to cancer, or family members/friends

-Helping pass out food and snacks Helping in the Kids Area with face painting and activities

-Helping at the Remembrance Pavilion--have people write down their memories of people they know, experiences they've had and share them in the pavilion

-Help with volunteers to sign in and give them t-shirts

-Help at the T-Shirt area to pass out t-shirts to those who have donated or raised $100 or more

-Help along the walking path to guide walkers along the right way and cheer them on.

We also need help the week of October 23 and October 30 (at our Stamford location) preparing the lanterns for our participants to light up. So anyone who can help out for even a few hours, please call!

Volunteers can arrive around 3:00 pm or whenever they can to get started.

Hope you will encourage anyone interested to contact me and come help us LIGHT UP THE NIGHT!

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.
