Open the gift shop at 10:00 a.m. and serve the clientele who come in and may need assistance finding things. Learn to write charges for them, run the cash register and make deposit to appropriate person.
Learn to write employee payroll deduction slips and accept payment and write the amount paid on a given date.
New merchandise may need to be priced and arranged in a very attractive manner. Watch for food item expiration dates. Assist the elderly clients with making change etc. A warn welcoming smile helps and it will help them relax and trust you. Keep track of inventory and assist in audits.
You will find the residents very friendly and they love to talk. You will make new friends and it will be a happy work place for you!

We strive to meet the spiritual, physical, psychological and social needs of each individual by providing compassionate, professional care. Description
St. Margaret Hall is a non-profit Nursing and Residential Care facility under the sponsorship of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. Its interests, policies and practices are guided by principles of Christian charity in service to humanity and by values, teaching and philosophies of the Catholic Church and the Carmelite Sister for the Aged and Infirm. We have been here since 1963 and provide excellent care to the elderly. Volunteers help enhance the world of the facility beyond the walls, help with happy hour on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4:30 p.m.
Conduct card games in the afternoon, read aloud to those with poor vision, Pastoral Care programs, giving out Holy Communion, and allowing people to go sit in the garden provided for their pleasure. There are so many ways Volunteers can add life to years and enjoy making new friends in the process. Volunteering is a two way street. You give your time and you get pleasure in giving to others!
