The Auxiliary is currently looking to expand our hours of coverage in the Gift Shop. We look forward to meeting new members, and bringing in more funds for the medical scholarships in the upcoming year.
If you know of anyone that may be interested in volunteering in our Auxiliary Gift Shop, please have them call Leticia in the Auxiliary Office on Fridays, or see Karin in the Gift Shop. Call us on Friday at 714-287-3000, ext. 7308 or 7309.
The Auxiliary is down to 3 dedicated people covering four days a week in our Gift Shop. We are in search of new teams to cover some extended hours for our visitors. All of our proceeds from sales in our Auxiliary Non-Profit Gift Shop are used for Scholarships given to people furthering their education in the medical field. The more hours we are open in the gift shop, the more we can grow our Auxiliary Scholarship Fund.
If you and a friend would like to be involved with a great group of people, we could use your help. We are looking for teams of 2-3 people to work in the Gift Shop and Information Desk, on Monday thru Friday for three, 4 hour shifts per day. We also are looking for coverage on weekends from 11am to 4pm. Any Auxiliary Member that volunteers for a 4 hour shift will get a free meal in the cafeteria during their shift.
Here are a few of the requirements:
At least 18 years old and out of high school
Completed application, including a background check
Interview with Leticia Keeling
Ability to socialize with customers and balance a cash drawer
Two step TB testing to start, then TB Test annually
Become a member of the Auxiliary with $10 dues annually

Mission Statement
The purpose of this Auxiliary is to promote and advance the welfare of the West Anaheim Medical Center and it patients by means of: A. Service to the Medical Center and its patients. B. Public relations. C. Fund raising by the Gift Shop. A hospital Gift Shop run by Auxiliary member volunteers. All profits are used for Scholarships to people furthering their education in the Medical Field. From 1967 to 2017 we have awarded 892 Scholarships to 427 students for a grand total of $458,186.00 in the past 50 years.
Description
Our Auxiliary Volunteers donate their time to the Gift Shop, Physical Therapy, Performance Improvement, Employee Health, Radiology and the Visitor Information Desk. We have new requests from the hospital all the time. Throughout all of our volunteer jobs, we have NO patient contact, because we know that our employees at West Anaheim Medical Center have the talent and the abilities to treat our patients. Auxiliary volunteers are here to support the staff. The current Auxiliary Members average 20 years of experience, and two Auxiliary Members have been volunteering since the hospital opened in 1964. We welcome volunteers over 18 years old who meet certain qualifications.
