About

Volunteers should have plenty of energy and enjoy spending time with young children. Basic understanding of child development, child safety, and children’s activities. Ability to speak slowly and clearly in short, simple phrases. Work well with people and be sensitive to cultural differences.

Volunteer will be responsible for supervising and monitoring children’s safety. Help children get accustomed to a preschool setting and improve social skills. Talk and interact with the children. Encourage children to repeat words and build vocabulary. Engage in age appropriate activities such as playing with toys, drawing, arts & crafts, games, read alouds, and songs. Prepare snack. Help children learn clean-up routines. Take turns cleaning the "yucky bucket" toys and sweeping the floor after class. Write class notes or report feedback as needed.
