Hospice care is not only for the recipient, it is for loved ones as well. A team of doctors, nurses, social workers, spiritual care coordinators, family and volunteers work together with the goal of improving the quality of life for both you and your loved ones. Hospice volunteers are an essential part of providing support, and the process is mutually rewarding and beneficial for both volunteer and recipient.
Our volunteers are carefully vetted and undergo comprehensive training to learn about the hospice philosophy, relating to you and your loved ones’ experiences and how to best contribute to care.
Hospice volunteers provide companionship for you and your loved ones during their visits. Additionally, volunteers may be licensed to provide:- Beauty or barber services
- Handyman work
- Light household work
- Errands
- Therapy such as music or pet therapy from licensed service animals
- Bereavement support
- Services as needed for your unique situation
