Lights of Lake Park was created in 1993 to celebrate the life of neighbor Ruby Dow and honor the care she received from Suncoast Hospice. With the support of Suncoast Hospice, Ruby was able to live her final days in dignity-at home surrounded by those who cared about her. in 2007, Ruby's husband, whose passion and spirit made this special event possible, passed away. Once again, we rededicated the Lights of Lake Park in memory of the Dows and in support of Suncoast Hospice's mission.
This event's success depends solely on volunteers! This event takes place December 1-31, from 5:45pm-10:00pm with volunteers arriving early for Orientation! We need 6-8 volunteers on regular nights and 8-12 volunteers on high traffic nights.
Volunteers will collect donations and hand out candy canes to people viewing all the beautiful Holiday lights.

Our Legacy
Founded as Suncoast (1977) and Tidewell (1980) as true pioneers in hospice care, each of our organizations adapted to change and grew to meet the needs of the community, ultimately evolving to become Empath Health and Stratum Health System, respectively.
We came together as Empath Health in March 2021, creating the country’s largest non-profit hospice and home care-based health care organization. Rooted in the remarkable people that give so much of themselves, we look to further our unwavering commitment to uniquely high standards by now growing together.
Our vision, shaped by inspiration and nurtured by imagination, is now made possible by our collaboration.
