Ride-Along Trekker Volunteer - Community Outreach & West Comal Chronicle Paper Delivery
When: 2nd & 4th Thursday from 11:30am - 2:00pm (includes travel time)
About: Assist a staff member with delivering various library event flyers, calendars, and the library’s paper (West Comal Chronicle) to various community places (currently 20 stops scheduled with potential for more to be added on).
Skills Needed:
- Good customer service
- Knowledge of Library services & upcoming events
- Organizational Skills
Good Match for:
- adults 18 and older
Requirements & Commitment
- Background Check
- Training
- 3-4 hours per week
- Willingness to learn to drive Trekker
- Physically demanding
- Lifting 30-40 pound boxes of books
- Pushing heavy book carts
- Working in unfavorable conditions - cold/hot temperatures, light rain showers
- Constant in and out of a raised vehicle

Description
I n January 2000 a special election established the Bulverde Area Rural Library District in the western portion of Comal County. The library’s name became The Bulverde/Spring Branch Library to reflect the service area of the Library District. The library is a beautiful 19,000 square foot facility with spectacular views. Our services include all types of physical and digital materials such as books, movies, audiobooks, music, magazines and newspapers. We offer many databases and free language learning resources. Our library provides literacy education such as ESL for non-English speakers, GED, and computer training courses, as well as children's and young adult programming, and adult leisure learning classes and workshops. We have public computers, printing, faxing and scanning services.
