Mentors & Meals (M&Ms) is an after-school tutoring program for financially and/or academically at-risk middle school students. We provide homework help, an after school snack, a 30 minute activity and a hot meal to students, Monday through Thursday from 3:30- 6:00 p.m. at the First Christian- Life Center in Versailles, Ky ( 160 Lexington St in Versailles, going toward the Courthouse, we are directly across from the CVS Pharmacy). M&Ms is a 501c3 non-profit and we do not charge the students any fee for attending. All of our mentors/tutors are high school students college interns or adult volunteers. (The older students get community and volunteer hours for giving back to their community in this way). We are needing a Therapy Dog to come on THURSDAYS from now through the beginning of May from 4:00-5:00. We send groups of 2 or 3 students in 10 minute intervals to come and read out loud to the dog. While one student reads, the other can love on the dog and then they switch. This has proven to be a really impactful way to get students to feel more comfortable reading out loud in a "non-judgmental" environment!
