There are extensive gardens with varied xeriscape, pollinator and traditional fauna at the Pueblo Zoo. Gardening Volunteers assist with planting new foliage, pulling weeds, trimming plants and applying mulch to keep the lush foliage and demonstration gardens well-maintained for visitor enjoyment.

Description

Open all year, 7 days a week. Home to more than 400 animals and 120 species including guest favorites: lions, playful otters and penguins. Visitors enjoy exotic and colorful habitats, plus lush gardens and educational exhibits. Establish in 1934, the Pueblo Zoo features some of the best examples of local historic architecture and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
