Festive Fall Decorating at Lakemary Center!

Loan us your spooky, your cooky, your bounteous bunches of cornstalks tied up in bows. The creepy-crawlies of your decoration collections. Send these, the haunting harvests of your attics and garages to US at Lakemary Center Ranch. We will return them to you by November!

PLEASE help us fill our barn with fun an spooky fall decoration for our Halloween Movie night on October 29th and 30th! Already these events have stirred up plenty of decorating interest from several volunteer groups but, with so many helping hands we are going to need A LOT of decorations!

We need:

  • pumpkins
  • Cornstalks
  • Haybales
  • Gravestones
  • Scarecrows
  • Leaf Garlands & wreaths
  • Candelabras
  • crows, bats, and black cats
  • Potion bottles
  • Spellbooks
  • A (very) large cauldron
  • White gauze, fabric, burlap (this item may need to be altered; possibly considered a donation rather than a loan)
Please contact us if you have any decorations to contribute! We need all the bobbles and trinkets, wreaths, leaves, and cornstalks we can get--it's a big barn!

Mission Statement

The mission of Lakemary Center is to provide choices and opportunities for children and adults with special needs to maximize the freedom and control they can bring to their lives.

Description

Lakemary is a well established agency with a national reputation for quality whose services touch the lives of over 600 individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities each year. Over 100 students currently receive primary and secondary education at Lakemary's school, with 64 of the children residing on campus year-round in Lakemary's Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program (PRTF). An additional 250 children receive services through community outreach programs including infant toddler, foster care, service coordination and outpatient therapy. Our adult program serves 120 individuals in residential settings throughout Johnson and Miami counties and over 200 in vocational programming.
