Each of four towns, Fair Haven, Poultney, Pittsford and Mendon, need petitions signed by 5% of their registered voters in order for ARC to be on the March ballot for funding vote. Our members living with Developmental Disabilities can't get around nor ask people in their community to sign the petitions very clearly and need help. The ARC Aktion Club members would love to help get signatures, but need help with transportation and communications. ARC has the petitions in the office. When one volunteers with this task, a sheet of instructions and importance is given along with the petition for the town the volunteer would like to work in.
Is it important to you that persons with Developmental Disabilities be regarded as valued citizens with the same entitlements as non-disabled individuals? Is it also important to you that this group of individuals be provided with opportunities for full participation within the community?
