No matter who you are, you've got something to offer hospice patients. Typically, the needs are simple: companionship and friendship, emotional support, someone to listen. But the small things you do can make an enormous difference in someone's life.
You can assist patients by reading, writing letters, playing music, just sitting quietly, or giving the caregiver a much needed break. We service patients and their families in DeKalb, Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties so most likely there is a patient close to you.
Most volunteers commit to one to two hours a week. The time is flexible depending on the needs of the patient and their family and your schedule. This opportunity will let you practice social skills, such as active listening, empathy, and conversation.
We look forward to meeting you and including you in our amazing hospice team!
