Global Green is a national environmental non-profit with offices in NYC, LA, DC and New Orleans.
We're conducting a national project on opportunities for increased compost use to benefit water management, soil health and carbon sequestration. The project will involve modeling of general strategies as well as specific scenerios for neighborhoods, cities - and potentially agriculture. The focus of the project is of the city as a lever for addressing climate change.
We're seeking help from 1-2 volunteers to brainstorm with us how GIS can be used to help cities and developers understand what role can GIS play in urban planning. We'd like to better understand what role Global Green can play to supporting the project with GIS including the time involved, data layers that we may need access to and both the benefits and challenges of using GIS.
