Showing off our creations from Literacy Day!
We give out produce harvested at our urban garden a mere 100 yards away from our mobile pantry in addition to food provided by Gleaners and Forgotten Harvest

Project Healthy Community runs a mobile food distribution that helps over 400 families supplement their food budget on the fourth Thursday of every month. During the warmer months, the distribution takes place outside at the Northwest Activities Center (18100 Meyers Rd, Detroit, MI 48235). When colder weather comes in the pantry is moved to an indoor location.

Volunteers assist in packaging and distributing food to the over 400 families that attend each month. Food distribution typically takes place outside, therefore volunteers are asked to dress for the weather, including rain.

Garden volunteers help weed and harvest among other garden tasks. Produce harvested in the garden is given away at the PHC’s Monthly Mobile Pantry and to other local institutions such as the neighboring senior center, Meyer Senior Co-op.
