Sitar Arts Center is looking for skilled violin instructors to teach private lessons after school to students from households with low incomes in Adams Morgan.
This teacher would begin teaching during our Spring 2020 semester, which runs from February 3 - May 9 2020, culminating in a Showcase performance the following week that features Sitar's group classes and private lessons.
Lessons are held once a week for 30-45 minutes each. Most volunteers give an hour/hour and a half a week--teaching two lessons, but some do more!!

Our mission is to offer possibilities that transform the lives of children and teens born into a world of unequal access to opportunity. We engage children and teens in the highest quality visual, performing and digital arts. We teach the arts so that our students learn about themselves and gain critical life skills. We create community for students and their families. And we are an untiring voice on their behalf.
Sitar Arts Center offers classes in the areas of music, dance, creative writing, visual arts, digital arts, and drama. Students gain skills in the different art disciplines and have the opportunity to perform at the end of each session.
