SVdP Thrift Store Volunteer
Job Location: Redwood City, San Mateo, SSF, and San Bruno
Community Need Addressed by Volunteer's Service:
Our four thrift stores make available low cost and no cost goods to the community. In addition to distributing and selling clothing and householdgoods to those in need, the SVdP Thrift Stores create employment and job training opportunities while also providing the community with a recycling program for used goods. Volunteers can play an essential role in what we do by helping us process donations, stock the store, and assist clients and customers with their needs.
- Donation Receiving: Greet and accept donations from donors. Help donors unlod donations and fill out a donation receipt. Direct donations to sorting areas.
- Donation Cleaning and Stocking: Help get donations ready to be distributed and sold by cleaning and preparing items for the sales floor. Assist with the stocking of items after they have been cleaned and priced.
- Merchandising and Recovery: Re-hang, re-size, and assist with the clean presentation of items on the sales floor. Help items find their way back to their department. Assist with the visual representation and display of items.
-Cashiering: Greet and assist customers and clients with their purchases and clothing redemption.
