Mission Statement

We foster hope, community and lasting memories by granting wishes for children with life threatening conditions and supporting their families beyond the wish.

Description

Established in 1983, Wishing Star Foundation grants wishes to children (ages 3-21) with terminal or life-threatening illnesses, living in Spokane, Tri-Cities and local outlying areas. A child does not need to be terminal to qualify for a wish.

Wishing Star is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are dependent on individual gifts, fundraising, donations, grants and memorials. We are not funded by the government or United Way.

Besides making the wish experience one of the most memorable times in a child's life, we believe that continued support to wish kids and families is an important part of our mission. We continue to support these families who care for medically fragile children. We provide resources for fun opportunities knowing that these families struggle emotionally and financially.
