Fundraising isn't just about collecting money; it also entails effectively communicating why the donations are needed. If you have good communication skills, or want to improve in that area, then volunteering for a position that involves fundraising might be a good fit for you.
The Friends of Arlington Animal Services is looking for volunteers to assist the Fundraising Coordinator and team, in hosting fundraising events and campaigns that make our work possible. Yappy Hours, Dog Walk, Online Auctions, Sponsorships, etc.
We rely primarily on community donations, so there is never a shortage of opportunities.

Mission Statement
FAAS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed to assist the shelter in developing ideas and programs to help decrease the euthanasia rate and increase the adoption/rescue rate of Arlington's homeless animals. We help educate the public and making them aware of the shelters’ needs.
Description
FAAS is focused on increasing the Arlington Animal Services (AAS) city shelter "live release rate" - the total number of animals that leave the shelter alive, either through adoption or transfer to one of the animal rescue groups and humane organizations that routinely take those animals from AAS that were not adopted or death-row dogs and cats into their own adoption programs. Many of our members are involved in rescue organizations, so we promote those animals that find themselves in danger of being euthanized as well as our own fosters saved from our TNR efforts within the city we foster and adopt out. In addition, FAAS members help on-site at the shelter with daily tasks, photographing animals and arranging transport for animals in need. These are just a few of the ways in which we help the shelter help our animals. We are all committed to increasing the number of adopted animals, decreasing the euthanasia rates, educating the public on responsible pet ownership and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). "Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world"
