Google CS First Overview

CS First is a program that increases student access and exposure to computer science (CS) education through after-school, in-school, and summer programs.

CS First is facilitated by teachers and/or community volunteers across the country.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers are integral to the CS First program because volunteers are needed for...

  • working one-on-one with students
  • giving encouragement
  • answering student questions
  • keeping the Club on schedule
You don’t need a computer science background to volunteer as a facilitator. All volunteers need to do is pass a background check and commit to 8 weeks of service (once a week for one hour).

Volunteer Benefits
  • Gain experience in mentoring youth & working with children
  • Build leadership skills through group facilitation
  • Making a positive impact on your community...
Volunteers will get the chance to work closely with club members as they watch videos, build projects and gain a fresh new perspective on STEM education via Google's creative & highly interactive CS First program. Volunteers will help to inspire many children realize their full potential in STEM education!
