HERO volunteers provide telephone support to families caring for loved ones with dementia in their own homes. Following training volunteers will provide 2 -5 hours per week of telephone support to help families connect with programs and services to meet their needs.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. The Iowa Chapter provides vital services, education, and support to people living with Alzheimer's, family members affected and caregivers affected by Alzheimer's. We serve those affected by providing these services in 75 Iowa and 5 Illinois counties. Offices are located in: Burlington, Dubuque, Fort Dodge, Quad Cities, Sioux City and West Des Moines (chapter headquarters). Our 24/7 Helpline is available by calling us at 1.800.272.3900.
