The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. We are looking for volunteers with excellent customer service skills to help our food shelf customers register for service. This volunteer will check customers' identification, ensure that they have not been to our food shelf in the last 30 days, verify their contact information and sign them in.
We ask for a 3 month commitment and a minimum of one day a week during our Food Shelf hours. Our current openings are Mondays 9am-3pm, Tuesdays 9am-3pm, Wednesdays 3-6pm and Thursdays 9am-3pm. You can choose to do one 3-hours shift a week or more.
