Mid-Shore Pro Bono is a community based non-profit serving the Eastern Shore. We connect low income individuals who have civil legal issues with volunteer attorneys and community resources. Our busy Easton based headquarters is looking for an outgoing, compassionate volunteer to help greet clients and distribute resource materials and applications for our services.

Mid-Shore Pro Bono is a legal services provider for Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline, Talbot and Dorchester counties. We are committed to strengthening the communities of Maryland's Mid-Shore by providing access to several diverse programs which offer resolution to a variety of civil issues, conflicts and disputes

Description

Mid-Shore Pro Bono’s mission is to provide access to free legal services and is committed to strengthening the communities of Maryland's Mid-Shore by offering resolution to a variety of civil issues.

Mid-Shore Pro Bono (MSPB) is requesting funding to support its new Economic Stability Project. We have identified and defined 5 Core Projects that meet the legal needs of low income residents living and working in our rural area. They are:

-Family Law Project: Offering access to custody, divorce and other domestic matters.

- Elder Law Project: Offering senior citizens important late life documents.

- Economic Stability Project (formerly Foreclosure Prevention). Offering assistance with foreclosure, consumer debt/student loan debt, bankruptcy, employment/record expungements, landlord tenant and other housing and real property matters.

- Vulnerable Populations Project: Now offering limited Immigration Legal Services in addition to the general legal services specifically to immigrants working and living on the Eastern Shore.

-Restorative Justice Project: Offering restorative justice options to youth facing the juvenile justice system as well as preventative dialogue circles to at-risk youth.
