"Because we rise by lifting others." -Robert Ingersoll What if you could lift a person's spirit with a smile, witty conversation, or just by holding their hand and providing a listening ear? Caring Like Family Hospice is searching for compassionate volunteers who have giving hearts and a willingness to offer their time and energy to patients and families dealing with end of life issues.
Caring Like Family Hospice offers administrative and in-home volunteer opportunities. In-home support consists of providing companionship, relief care, running errands, and engaging in life review as well as assisting with light household chores, walking dogs, and/or interacting with family and caregivers. Administrative volunteer duties consists of answering telephones, filing, and assisting with special projects.
At Caring Like Family, we care for our patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. Our hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. Our goal in hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility.
We'll work with your schedule.
