ORGANIZATION: San Jose Public Library - Vineland Branch Library

We are looking for an adult volunteer to help us run our new and upcoming Reading Buddies program. For this position you will be supervising teens that will listen to or read to children.

Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for a minimum of 12 months

Qualifications:

  • Age 18 or older. Fingerprint clearance required.

  • Responsible and dependable

  • Able to follow directions

  • Able to work independently

    **Must be available Thursdays at 4pm

Description

Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
