Gardens of Love

Some of our patients still reside in their homes. This promotes a sense of safety and security as they remain surrounded by the people they love and trust. Many times their caregiver is overwhelmed with the consistent day to day needs of the patient, the emotional toll of being a full-time caregiver and the responsibility of the decisions that continue to be needed for their loved ones care. They are not able to keep up with everything, so things begin to become overwhelming, causing increased stress and anxiety. To help these families, I am looking for men and women who enjoy the outdoors and would be willing to go to our patients' homes to rake up leaves, weed, clean out flower beds and clean up gardens. This would be a once a month commitment during the fall and can be done at your convenience days, evenings and/or weekends. You would be responsible to bring your own rakes, shovels, lawn bags and other gardening necessities. You would be responsible to discuss with the homeowner, and/or the caregiver, to determine what they would appreciate having done and to set-up your visits at a time that would be convenient for them.
