We are in need of volunteers to fill the following roles:

Host Families: The host family has been recommended by their church, approved by Safe Families, and has passed necessary background checks and fingerprint clearances. They have two-fold ministry for caring for children and fostering and on-going relationship with parents, with the goal of becoming a spiritual extended family to offer support when necessary. Host Families will have the gifts of compassion, hospitality, and empathy, and have a heart for children.

Family Coach: A Family Coach is is the church's hands-on support and coordinator of the ministry team for the Host Family and the family in crisis. The Family Coach initially visits children living with Host Families once a week and guides the Host Families as they encounter the joys and struggles of helping others and giving of themselves. They also come alongside the placing parent if they need assistance locating resources and getting referrals to other helping organizations. Family Coaches will be gifted in relationship building, compassion, administrative tasks, and follow-up.

Family Friends/Resource Friends: Family Friends are those individuals that are willing to come alongside the Host Family to provide moral support, babysitting, transportation, and any other resources the Host Family may need as they are caring for children. Family Friends function as an extended support system that can give the Host Family a boost when they feel tired or feel the weight of the extra responsibility they have joyfully accepted. Family Friends will be flexible, kind, giving, and compassionate.

Each role listed above is required to pass the necessary fingerprint and background checks, and must be approved by Safe Families. Specific training is provided for each of the roles listed as well.   • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • 1-5 hours a week.
  • Fingerprints, background checks, application process, and role specific training.
