Empower young people to own their economic success!
Junior Achievement (JA) is the nonprofit leader in providing innovative, hands-on experiences in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education. We need volunteer to take career and life-skills mentoring into local classrooms.
There are two time slots we need to fill at Mandarin High School.
Time Slot One: 7:15-8:50 AM
Time Slot Two: 12:30 - 2:00 PM
Whichever time slot you choose, you will teach on Monday, December 4th and Tuesday, December 5th
As a volunteer you will teach the JA Career Success program to AVID students (Advancement Via Individual Determination). JA Career Success equips students with the knowledge required to get and keep a job in high-growth industries. Students will explore the crucial workplace skills employers seek but often find lacking in young employees. Students also will learn about valuable tools to find that perfect job, including resumes, cover letters, and interviewing techniques.
No teaching experience is required to teach a JA program!
Our staff will provide training and will give you a classroom kit complete with all program materials needed to teach the lessons, including a guidebook.

Description
Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.
Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12 th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential.
JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students.
Through an innovative partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers, Junior Achievement helps young people connect with relevant learning and the importance of staying in school. JA students develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and entrepreneurship in the 21 st-century global marketplace.
Junior Achievement of North Florida is one of 115 JA Areas in the United States. JA of North Florida has been in operation since 1963 and serves youth in Duval, St. Johns, Clay and surrounding counties.
