We are looking for industry professionals to mentor high school students in cities around the world. These students are building their own startups in 25 weeks. In addition to having access to a customized education platform with animated videos/workshops/and curated curriculum, students will be asked to submit certain milestones throughout the year. We take students from ideation and brainstorming all the way to teaching them how to bring a product/service to market.

We ask mentors to volunteer once a month, for one hour, virtually, at your convenience. We will pair you with a specific school in your region (unless you have a preference and want to request a school to work with). We ask that you give the team feedback in regards to the progress of their company, helping them to understand what they should be focusing on next. Although we offer a robust program, the mentorship aspect of the program is often the most impactful for students, as many times they do not have this support home or at school. We provide a detailed schedule, optional mentor training, and handouts to help mentors that are volunteering in this capacity for the first time.

Mission Statement

We want to empower students to create something real in high school. We encourage them to create the change they want to see in the future by launching their own startups.

Description

We are an after-school program that encourages entrepreneurship at the high school level. This is not a business pitch competition. Our solutions solve real problems, with alumni groups ranging from AI technology to help the vision impaired to a product that catches CO2 emissions from vehicles. We run a 25 week long after-school program, running from September to April. Finalists celebrate their accomplishments by pitching their company in front of a mock board of advisers at MIT. Students are sponsored with grants in their second year of the program to encourage growth in the startups they created in year one. In addition to teaching the basis of entrepreneurship, we want to prepare students for college and the career world by helping them grow 21st century skils.
