Food pantries provide both perishable and non-perishable food items to families and individuals each month. The food provided has been purchased from Tarrant Area Food Bank and donated by local grocery stores, as well as through local food drives.
Volunteers roles may include but are not limited to:
- Greeter
- Registration Assistant
- Restocking Shelves
- Sacking Groceries
- C arrying Groceries to Vehicles
Individuals as young as 8 years old are invited to volunteer; however, ages 8-14 years old MUST have an adult chaperone. Volunteers must be able to lift 10 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Description
Tarrant Area Food Bank distributes food to more than 300 partner agencies in a thirteen county service region. In the past year, TAFB distributed over 30 million pounds of food to neighbors in need. TAFB also offers complementary programs such as nutrition education, food stamp outreach, mobile food distribution, food for children and community gardens for children and adults of our member agencies.
