The Homework Assistant/Tutor will provide academic support and direct homework help to participants of KHCC's after-school programs grades K - 5. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to work with staff to oversee aspects of the program, including arts activities, recreational opportunities, and leadership initiatives.
KHCC’s After School Program serves children from K through fifth grade. It provides fun and engaging ways to both relax and learn after a long day at school, through sports, music, arts, and gardening. Children are guided to form positive relationships and foster responsibility, respect, and the ability to make good choices. The program focuses on literacy that supports English as a core subject with daily homework periods and mentoring by older youth. We also encourage youngsters to live healthy lifestyles by engaging them in physical fitness activities and nutrition workshops.
