Who we are:

At Girls in the Game every girl finds her voice, discovers her strength and leads with confidence through fun and active leadership, sports and health programs. Our programs empower all girls to be gamechangers in their own lives and in their communities. We strive to serve girls year-round and over the long-term and offer a continuum of programs for girls at each stage in their developmental cycle. Our work began in Chicago, but in recent years we’ve expanded to Bloomington, Illinois, Baltimore, Maryland, and North Texas.

Why we’re looking for you:

We’re building up the next generation of female leaders in Texas. This isn’t work we can do alone. So we’re building up a community in Texas by reaching out to people who are interested in lending their time, experience, and passion to make a real impact on the lives of girls. Our community is strong in its diversity; it is full of people from all different backgrounds that come together with the common goal of empowering girls. Whether you’re a seasoned professional, a recent college grad, a long-time advocate of sports-based youth development, or just looking to be part of something bigger than yourself, we have a place for you at Girls in the Game.

What do we expect from you?

We need you to be passionate about empowering girls. That’s the only prerequisite because Girls in the Game is most successful when we have people bringing all different kinds of expertise to the table. Our main goal as an Auxiliary Board is to spread awareness of the work we’re doing by hosting events throughout the community, raising money, creating volunteer opportunities, and tapping into our networks to maximize our reach and impact in Texas. What that looks like will vary from person to person. Do you have experience planning events or a connection at a local restaurant? Maybe you’ll take the lead on a fundraising dinner. Are you new to the city and want to meet some like-minded professionals? Maybe you’ll attend that dinner. Are you proud of where you work and inspired by your company’s leaders? Maybe you’ll host a Leader to Leader event with our Teen Squad girls in your office. Are you strapped for time but looking for a good cause to support financially that directly impacts girls in your community? We’ve got a place for you too. If you’ve got the passion, we’ll work with you to craft a role that makes sense for you.
