Our Tapestries programs offers hospice patients and their family members holistic interventions, incorporating the Namaste approach through nurturing and meaningful activities. Engage patients senses through familiar sights, sounds, scents, and touches to provide happy memories and improve quality of life.
We are looking for a creative, compassionate intern who can manage this program in our Fort Washington office. Our office provides hospice services to patients in Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery counties. The ideal intern will be able to meet with patients and family members to gather life stories, work with the hospice teams to create individualized activities to add to patients' care, and manage the implementation of these services.
While the Tapestries program primarily focused on our patients w/ Alzheimer's and other Dementias, it can be used and implemented in any patient's plan of care despite their disease.
The tapestries intern will work closely with hospice RN's, Chaplains, Social Workers, and volunteers which lends this position to be perfect for students of myriad degrees from Social Work to Counseling to Art / Music Therapy to History or similar Liberal Arts Majors. Extensive training provided with educational opportunities throughout your internship!
Students with an interest or background in Reiki, Massage Therapy, Aromatherapy, Music, Writing, Pet Therapy, Nutrition, Art including Visual Arts, and Yoga/Meditation are encouraged to apply!
