The First Annual NKY Home Ownership Fair is a free, public event for individuals who are curious about what it takes to become a homeowner and for individuals who are ready to become homeowners. Our committee, which consist of NKY Community Action Commission, Catholic Charities, Brighton Center, Housing Opportunities of NKY, Housing Authority of Covington, Boone County Housing, Life Learning Center, and the City of Covington is looking for 31 volunteers to assist with the activities of the fair. Our goal is to have 31 volunteers sign up for a three hour time slot. Volunteers will be empowering attendees to take control of their finances by assisting them with learning how to do a soft pull of their credit. We also need volunteers to assist with the set up, managing "traffic flow" and making sure attendees find what they are looking for.
Time slots
9:30 am to 12:30 pm
12:30 pm to 3:30 pm
3:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Volunteer Job Descriptions
Set up (8:30 to 10:00)
4 Volunteers needed
*Help with setting up each room/vendor alley; moving tables, preparing resources
Sign In Table
3 volunteers needed (one for each time slot)
*Assist with signing in attendees, vendors, volunteers & provide information as needed to all
Food/Snacks
3 volunteers needed (one for each time slot)
*Maintain food/snacks supply and make sure food is being handled in a safe manner
Attendees pulling their own credit
12 volunteers needed (four for each time slot)
*Three volunteers will walk around the room and assist any attendee who has questions regarding how to pull their own credit. One volunteer will remain at the printer and make sure the correct person is getting the correct credit report.
Auditorium
3 volunteers needed (one for each time slot)
*Make sure there are no food/snacks/drinks consumed in auditorium and make sure the speakers have what they need to present (computer equipment, lights, microphone). IT person will be on site
Lender/Credit Counselors/ Waiting Room
6 volunteers needed (two for each time slot)
*Maintain order in waiting room and communicate with the other volunteer in lender room to send attendees over to be seen by lender or credit counselor as openings become available.
