Mentoring Kids Through Tennis
Kings County Tennis League (KCTL) is a registered 501c3 non-profit that uses tennis as an instrument for mentorship and community building in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. We literally bring tennis to the children’s communities.
KCTL is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are comfortable working with kids and ready to develop their roles as mentors.Tennis skills are helpful, but not required. For the summer season, our free classes are Saturday mornings, June 2 through September 22, at the following sites in Bedford Stuyvesant, BK: Lafayette Gardens, Marcy, Sumner, Tompkins and Jackie Robinson. Volunteers must commit to a minimum number of classes.
Duties for each class included: tossing tennis balls, giving out high fives, directing and communicating with students, and teaching If you have a tennis background. Basically, however, you will serve as a positive role model that the kids look forward to seeing each day.
All volunteers are required to undergo a background check and training. Volunteers will receive a KCTL team jersey and invites to special volunteer events as a thanks for all their hard work. Please fill out a KCTL registration form if you’re interested, or contact rob@kingscountytennisleague.org.
