Soccer Without Borders (SWB) mission is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing newcomer refugee, asylee and immigrant youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success. SWB participants represent over 50 different countries, including Iraq, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Nepal, Bhutan, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Somalia, and Ethiopia. SWB is an international leader in sports-for-social impact that has been working in the Bay Area since 2006, and has received numerous awards, including the FIFA Diversity Award, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Sports Award, and the Beyond Sport Award.

SWB Oakland runs progamming for middle and high school newcomer youth. Our 16 different teams practice Tuesday-Friday, for 2 hours. Coaches will act as a supporting coach serving as a role model and aoff the field. Specifically, the coach will provide instruction at practices and games, will lead team-building activities, and will also support with overall programmatic delivery.
