Share your talent! Seeking musically inclined people to join our Patient Volunteer Team. You don't have to be a professional musician, just capable and comfortable in playing an instrument or singing for our hospice patients and families.

Music can be a great help in reducing stress and anxiety. It can take our patients down memory lane, make them feel a sense of connection and ease their pain. When they listen to music they love, a certain melody may resonate deep within their soul and provide a space that brings comfort, calmness, reassurance and joy. Performing for, or maybe even singing with our patients, is a very special way to offer a heartfelt moment of connection and enjoyment.

We offer great training and ongoing support to ensure that you will feel comfortable in your work as a valued member of our Hospice Team!

Visit our website at: www.goodshepherdhospice.com to submit your volunteer application and we will follow up with you right away. Or, contact Erin York at 816-822-2292 or erin.york@goodshepherdhospice.com for more information.

Serving people with compassion and dignity.

Description

COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.

At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.

We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.

Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.

Our History - 22 Years of Comforting and Serving

Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. We now have a regional presence serving Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Along the way, we’ve touched the lives of more than 20,000 patients and shepherded 50, 000+ family members through their time of need. Every member of our team receives comprehensive, ongoing training. We are a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association, Medicare Certified and State Licensed.
