Bread for the City's Southeast Center offers a variety of service opportunities in one location (1640 Good Hope Road SE)! Whether you can give two hours or seven, we appreciate your sharing your time and energy with us. Explore our online shift calendar, and sign up at www.breadforthecity.org/volunteer
Clothing Room - Monday thru Thursday, AM and PM shifts
Diaper Program - Tuesdays and Thursdays, AM and PM shifts
SE Food Pantry - Monday thru Thursday, AM and PM shifts
Office Support - We'll work with you to arrange a schedule.
Farmers Market - Last Fridays, March thru October
Pre-Employment Program - Send your résumé, and we'll work with you to arrange a schedule.
Bread for the City's Southeast Center is easy to access via metro. Exit the green line at the Anacostia metro stop. You can walk to the center in 15-17 minutes, or you can catch a B2, V2, or W6 bus to 14th & Good Hope Road. You can also catch a Circulator bus at Anacostia metro stop and exit at 18th & Good Hope Road SE.

Mission Statement
The mission of Bread for the City is to help Washington, DC residents living with low income to develop the power to determine the future of their own communities. We provide food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty. We seek justice through community organizing and public advocacy. We work to uproot racism, a major cause of poverty. We are committed to treating our clients with the dignity and respect that all people deserve.
Description
Bread for the City offers food and clothing, social services, legal counsel, and medical care at no cost to eligible clients. Anyone living in the District of Columbia who meets income guidelines and other program requirements (such as lack of health insurance) may be eligible for help at Bread for the City.
