PSF’s network of Resource Centers offer a dynamic new approach to meeting the needs of local communities by providing easily accessible, non-stigmatizing locations for individuals and families to seek a variety of services and supports. Our Resource Centers are often seen as a "one-stop-shop" for local resources, ranging anywhere from clothing closets and food pantries to financial literacy for adults and afterschool programs for children. These resources are made available through both formal and informal partnerships with more than 40 community agencies.

Volunteering here means offering real-life change to families who are ready to improve their lives. You’re not just tutoring afterschool, you’re helping students reach graduation and college. You’re not just answering phones, you’re connecting parents to critical resources. You’re helping to create a safe environment for families to receive support and develop resiliency. We’re looking for volunteers and interns who are consistent and committed to serving each week, during normal business hours, for at least one semester.

Our three Gainesville branches are located at the Library Partnership Resource Center (northeast), the Cone Park Library (southeast) and the SWAG Family Resource Center within the Linton Oaks neighborhood (southwest).

Mission Statement

Our mission is to enhance the community's ability to protect and nuture children by building, maintaining and constantly improving a network of family support services.

Description

Partnership for Strong Families (PSF) is the lead community-based care agency for North Central Florida. We work with at-risk families to prevent child abuse and to decrease the risk of children entering the out-of-home care system. By collaborating with other local service organizations, we are able to connect families with needed resources and help them grow stronger as a result.

We operate four community based resource centers, which serve close to 40,000 patrons annually, to help fill service gaps across Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist and Levy counties. Volunteering at one of our Resource Centers is about more than just lending a hand.
