Mission Statement
Circle of Friends' mission is to promote inclusion for students with disabilities and those living with adversity. We empower all students to appreciate differences, build genuine friendships, and stand up to bullying to achieve significant social impact.
Description
Circle of Friends (CoF) is a school inclusion program for all grade levels that decreases isolation by promoting friendships between students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers. This begins during lunch, the most social part of the day, and becomes student-driven as it evolves on each campus. As the understanding and acceptance of differences increases, bullying decreases. Since 2005, Circle of Friends has launched 250 chapters and positively impacted the lives of more than 90,000 students with and without disabilities!
- Students with disabilities experience genuine friendships.
- General education students develop compassion and leadership.
