Fall After-School Program Volunteer Opportunities

With the start of the new school year, we are looking for lots of new volunteers! Please read through our volunteer options at our community centers. We have done our best to explain the activity, days, and times - when you click "sign-up," you'll have the opportunity to tell us which day/time/activity is best for you!

We are currently recruiting volunteers for the fall semester/season, which means we hope you can make a weekly commitment from late September - mid-December.

We run daily after-school programming from 3-6pm at our three community centers in East Baltimore. The addresses are:

-The UA House at Fayette operated by Living Classrooms: 1100 E. Fayette, 21202

-POWER House Community Center: 316 S. Caroline Street, 21231

-Park House in Patterson Park: 200 S. Linwood, 21224

Living Classrooms Foundation is a non-profit organization, operated for the benefit of the community at large, providing hands-on education and job skills training for students from diverse backgrounds, with a special emphasis on serving at-risk youth.

Description


The Foundation uses maritime settings, community revitalization projects and other challenging learning environments, and a low staff to student ratio. Our "learning by doing" education programs emphasize the applied learning of math, science, literacy, history, economics, and ecology. Key objectives of all Living Classrooms programs are career development, community service, elevating self-esteem, and fostering multicultural exchange.
