The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Help ensure food security for your neighbors by volunteering with North Helpline Emergency Services and Food Bank!
North Helpline distributes food to our neighbors in North Seattle three times a week, keeping over 1,200 individuals fed. Over 120,000 pounds of food is given out monthly. Our work would not be possible without the thousands of volunteer hours served here every year.
On sorting days volunteers Volunteers will help with receiving, sorting, and organizing donations for food bank distributions which take place 3 times a week.
We have food bank receiving and sorting opportunities throughout the week including:
Tuesday mornings from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Thursday mornings from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
Friday mornings from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
